Single Session Counselling/ Coaching

Single Session Counselling/Coaching, grounded in research, is a method of coaching where there is an understanding that the intention is to meet for one session in order to address a problem (with the understanding that more sessions are available if needed).

Single sessions Counselling/Coaching are more ‘solution focused’ than traditional counseling and psychotherapy. Where Counselling and psychotherapy is more about processing something painful from your past and you are looking to build a long-term relationship with a clinician and Single sessions Counselling/Coaching is less focused on the past, but on a well-defined problem, goal, and potential solutions.

My method of coaching is:
1. Client-centered.

2) Strength-based and goal-oriented. We are to help you use your skills and work to identify action steps.

3) Efficient– Sometimes, less is more.

4) Highly effective.

15-30 minute Phone Consultation: This is an opportunity to ask questions to see if we are a fit for each other. The healing process is sacred, intimate, and can be challenging. It’s important that you feel comfortable and safe enough to show up as your most authentic self. I recommend having questions ready specific to your needs. If you don’t know what to ask, no worries, I got you.

First session: We’ll meet virtually through a secure video platform. Prior to the first session, you’ll receive documentation to complete through email. During the session, I’ll review the documents with you and answer any questions you have. One of the documents will be an intake questionnaire which asks for a brief description of your presenting concerns, background, and personal goals. I’ll use that document to guide the session, this time will also be used to build rapport, assess for fit, and plan for treatment.
